John R. Akin, Jr., Chief Financial Officer and Chief Investment Officer - John R. Akin joined Flournoy in 2012 as its Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Flournoy, he was a Senior Vice President at Carter where he held multi-family investment and development efforts on behalf of the Carter Funds. Before Carter, Mr. Akin was Senior Vice President of Development and Investments at Novare Group. In his real estate career, he has overseen the development and acquisition for over $1.5 billion worth of multi-family and mixed-use projects totaling more than 5,000 units. Previously, Mr. Akin worked as a Principal at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and a Senior Consultant for Ernst and Young. Mr. Akin received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia in 1993 and an MBA from Duke University in 1998.
